Here's what you'll need for this tutorial:

  1. Paint Shop Pro: get a trial version from Corel Corporation
  2. An image to frame
  3. You'll need my zip file- download HERE

The zip file contains:
Fancy Frame Mask: (Fancy Frame-quickcreations.PspMask) Place in your Mask Folder
Highlights Brush: (BrushTip_Highlights-quickcreations.PspScript & Highlights-quickcreations.PspBrush) Both of these files need to be placed in your Brushes Folder
Gold Glitter seamless tile (gold glitter-quickcreations.jpg)
Fancy Frame Corner Tube: Place in your Tube Folder

**This tutorial assumes you have a basic understanding of PSP, the location of it's tools and effects and how to install downloaded files**

Let's get started:

1. Place supplies in the proper folders and open the image you'll be framing. Make a duplicate copy and minimize one. Also open the Gold Glitter.jpg tile.

2.. Use your Dropper Tool to select a color from your image (darker colors work best) and set as your Foreground/Stroke color. Set the Background/Fill Properties to the Gold Glitter tile.

3. On one of your images, use your Flood Fill Tool with the following settings and flood fill with your Foreground/Stoke color.

4. Go to: | Layers | | Load/Save Mask | | Load Mask From Disk | and choose my Fancy Frame-quickcreations mask.

5. Right-click on the top layer in the layer palette and choose | Merge | | Merge Group |

6. Select the Magic Wand Tool and click in the center opening, then go to | Selections | | Modify | | Expand | by 2 pixels. Add a new Raster layer.

7. Switch to your duplicate copy and go to | Edit | | Copy | Go back to your mask image and choose | Edit | | Paste Into Selection | Keep selected!
| Selections | | Float | | Effects | | 3D Effects | | Cutout | and apply a cutout with these settings:

Repeat this cutout but change the Vertical and Horizontal settings to -4. Keep selected.

8. Go to | Selections | | Invert |
Select the Flood Fill Tool and LEFT-Click to fill this area with the Gold Glitter Pattern.

9. Select the Paint Brush and find the Highlights-quickcreations brush.

10. Select the Dodge Brush. You can change the size of the brush to best fit your image if you need to.

Click in the center of your image a couple of times. Change the Rotation to 180 and click a couple of times again. Do not deselect!
Click on this layer in the layer palette and drag this layer to the bottom of the layer palette.
Highlight the top layer, select your Magic Wand Tool and click on the colored area of your frame. | Selections | | Invert | | Effects | 3D Effects | | Drop Shadow | with these settings:

11. | Selections | | Select None | | Image | Add Borders |

12. Add a New Raster Layer and fill this layer with the Flood Fill Tool. | Layers | | Load/Save Mask | | Load Mask From Disk | and choose my Fancy Frame-quickcreations mask again. Right click on this layer, | Merge | | Merge Group |

13. Repeat step 10 with the Dodge Brush. Apply the drop shadow with the same settings as before.

14. | Image | Add Borders | 5 pixels
(Use a color not in your image-to make it easier to select). Select your Magic Wand Tool to select the border. Select the Flood Fill Tool and LEFT-Click to fill this area with the Gold Glitter Pattern.

Apply the Drop Shadow again. Repeat but change the Vertical and Horizontal offset to -2.

15. | Image | Add Borders | 25 pixels (any color). Select the border with your magic wand.

16. | Effects | | Reflection Effects | | Kaleidoscope | with the following settings:

17. | Adjust | Blur | | Gaussian Blur | Radius 10.00 | Adjust | | Remove/Add Noise | | Add Noise |

With this area still selected | Selections | | Float | | Effects | | 3D Effects | | Cutout | with these settings:

Repeat the cutout, changing the Vertical and Horizontal Offset to -1. | Selections | | Select None |

18. | Image | Add Borders | 5
Select your Magic Wand Tool to select the border. Select the Flood Fill Tool and LEFT-Click to fill this area with the Gold Glitter Pattern. Apply the Drop Shadow again.

Repeat but change the Vertical and Horizontal offset to -2. | Selections | | Select None |

19. Add a New Raster Layer. Select the Picture Tube Tool and select the Fancy Frame Corner tube.
Place this in the upper left hand corner (see the finished example). Right click on this layer in the layer palette; | Duplicate | | Image | | Flip Horizontal | Place at the upper right hand corner of your image. Turn of the Visibility on your bottom layer.

Right click on the top layer in the Layer Palette | Merge | | Merge Visible | | Duplicate | | Image | | Flip Vertical | Toggle your bottom layer back on and line this up in the lower right hand corner.

20. Your last step is to merge your layers | Layers | | Merge | | Visible Visible |
